Want a progress report on The Drop: Season Four? The draft hit 50,000 words this morning, which is a good milestone. I’m hoping to finish it by the end of July and publish by September. It’s going well. The chapters in this series are marked by the number of days into the survival game and I realized I was front-loading the action too much, which makes it tougher later in the book to space out the actual amount of time it takes the players to cross 500 kilometers. In other words, I was about halfway through the story and the characters had barely made it past a week. So, a few days ago I did some timeline revision. That exercise creates more space between character appearances, where they’re basically offstage, but also progresses the journey better. At least I think it does. We’ll see how it ends up in the final draft and I can always revise more if needed.
