Conundrums

It’s no secret here that I advertise my books through BookBub, usually every weekend. Ads for First, Next Time, and First Step use up their ad budget every weekend, every time. My ads for The Drop and Assignment Day? Not so much. The good thing about BookBub is the ability for trial and error. It took several months for me to find the right approach for First, and Next Time also went through growing pains. I’ve tried different graphics, certainly tried different text, all to no avail. Effectiveness is measure by clicks, which hopefully translate into sales. I’ve even had AI weigh in, giving me ideas on the text to try. Hey, if AI was so smart, would I be writing this? Anyway, nothing seems to be working. I also have to consider the audience for the ad. BookBub lets you target readers of other authors, and it could be that my targeting is off. I don’t think that’s the case, though, since I’ve changed up those authors and their readers. No, I just need to find that magical ad copy. Try, try, try, and try again.
